Literature Text

I can tell you how much it rains in these parts,
and if you gave me a pound for every time the heavens open,
I'd be richer than the richest drivers of go-karts.

I can't tell you how much it rains in the brain.

You can speak to me of the sun's rays,
how you don't need reward for each glorious rise and fall,
because you're rich in the warmth of the warmest haze.

You can't tell me how much it burns your retinas.

Dried up or drowned out,
choose one if you must.
We always take the weather with us.
